Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a Design Engineer Intern to join our Dallas-based R&D team, delivering an industry-leading mobile robotic solution for material handling. You will assist in concept through detailed fabrication drawings, BOM creation, and integration with suppliers and the shop.

The role offers hands-on experience with high level automation, robotics, CAD (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), 3D modeling, and design for manufacturing, while developing engineering solutions aligned with

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
• Basic knowledge with 2D and 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc)
• Knowledge of motors, robotics, gearboxes, pneumatics, FEA, bearings.
• Design for Manufacturing & Assembly with ability to produce fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs for material handling equipment from concept to fabrication drawings.
• Create BOMs for designs.
• Collaborate with vendors and shop to resolve engineering issues and ensure design integrity.
• Meet customer expectations through superior design and implementation.
• Work with management to prioritize projects and manage time.
• Produce equipment manuals post-project completion.
• Follow documentation standards and maintain project records.
