Job summary

LPU Batangas is seeking a student intern to join our engineering team in Watertown, NY. You will support daily production with problem resolution and value improvements, perform basic analysis and testing, and contribute to prototypes and design drawings using SolidWorks and Office tools.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement within a lean manufacturing environment, offering hands-on training and the potential for full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in CAD/SolidWorks.
• Nice to have: experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong orientation towards safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Commitment to Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to analyze problems and develop practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the on-staff Engineering Team focusing on daily production needs such as problem resolution and value improvements.
• Perform basic analysis and testing; set up and administer tests to verify functionality, strength, and safety.
• Contribute to design considerations of prototype parts, assemblies, product design sketches, and drawings.
• Create detailed engineering documentation including design, drafting, and analysis on process and/or product improvement projects.
• Utilize SolidWorks, Microsoft Office products, and other engineering software.
• Research components and contact suppliers as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement of processes and procedures within a lean manufacturing environment.
• Collaborate with team members from global locations, including more than 50 manufacturing sites worldwide.
