Job summary

RNWBL is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead gearbox design and disassembly efforts, collaborating with senior engineers to upgrade bearings, seals, lubrication and fits. You will model parts, assemble full gearboxes, and prepare sectional drawings for production and QA.

The role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork, attention to detail, and hands-on problem solving to mitigate common failures and improve refurbishment quality. On-site schedule in Wisconsin with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in a relevant field; additional note for gearboxes/ gearing.
• 2–4 years of CAD and PDM software experience; SolidWorks preferred.
• Accomplished analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision making abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Customer-focused mindset; focus on quality.

Responsibilities

• Co-own First Time Disassembly with Senior Production Engineer.
• Perform First Time Disassembly and document with photos as required.
• Assist with initial Bill of Materials creation and BOM part numbering.
• Enter part numbers and create new routing in Sage 500 as needed.
• Lead reverse engineering activities and develop BOM for gearbox models.
• Create CAD models and assembly drawings for gearbox components.
• Review dimensions and material specs; develop rework check sheets.
• Design upgrades for bearings, lubrication, sealing and related fits.
• Collaborate with Disassembly teams on various gearbox models.
• Train new hires, especially in Design Engineer I role.
• Become team expert on gearbox design aspects and failures mitigation.
