Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an engineer in Fort Worth, TX to provide conceptual design for HVAC, plumbing and related systems, and to perform calculations, drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities include basic load calculations, equipment sizing, friction and hydraulic calculations, and reading mechanical plans. Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering; PE license is preferred. Strong communication and CAD/Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• PE license preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression design.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in CAD and Microsoft Office products, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide conceptual design for HVAC, plumbing or other systems.
• Perform calculations, drawings and specifications for projects.
• Calculate heating/cooling loads, equipment sizing and hydraulic calculations.
