Job summary

Muncie Power Products is seeking a Design Engineer - Tanks to design fabricated metal components and assemblies, create 3D models and 2D drawings, and maintain accurate BOMs and engineering documentation.

You will collaborate with manufacturing to optimize designs for manufacturability, quality, and cost, support production equipment programming (CNC laser cutting and plasma table), and manage engineering release notices and ECNs within the ERP system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of mechanical design and engineering documentation.
• Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing with SolidWorks, Inventor, and AutoCAD.
• Experience with metal fabrication processes is a plus.
• Familiar with ERP systems for BOMs and product structures.

Responsibilities

• Design and model components and assemblies in 3D and 2D drawings.
• Coordinate in-house metal fabrication projects with manufacturing.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in ERP.
• Support production with engineering changes and work instructions.
• Develop technical documentation and release notices.
