Job summary

Mi-Tech is seeking a Design Engineer, Geostructural, to design temporary and permanent structures for utility, infrastructure, and heavy civil projects. You will develop calculation submittals, create design and shop drawings, and support bids and pursuits through preliminary evaluations and analyses.

The role requires a Civil Engineering background (0–2 years), proficiency in Excel, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and Finite Element Analysis, with FE exam completion preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 0 to 2 years of experience in the design of temporary works, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects.
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures preferred.
  • Successful completion of the FE exam.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and Finite Element Analysis.
  • Previous construction field experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a quickly changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication required.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record as determined by Michels Review Team.

Design Engineer, Geostructural

As a full‑service engineering, design, and construction services firm, Mi‑Tech delivers comprehensive, in‑house support for utility, infrastructure and heavy civil projects from planning and design through execution. Our multidisciplinary team provides practical, innovative solutions that emphasize cost efficiency, constructability, and long‑term value.

In your role as a geostructural engineer at Mi‑Tech, you’ll design a wide variety of temporary and permanent structures associated with the construction of utility, infrastructure and heavy civil projects. Primary job responsibilities include developing calculation submittals, developing design and shop drawings, and supporting project pursuits and bids through preliminary evaluations and analyses. Additional tasks include supporting other engineers, communicating and coordinating with design and field teams, and providing support to senior engineers with other assigned duties.

The information reflects the anticipated base salary for this position based on current market data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on individual’s skills, experiences, education, and other job‑related factors permitted by law.
