Job summary

Mi-Tech Services, Inc., a design and construction services firm within the Michels Family of Companies, seeks a Geostructural Design Engineer. You will design temporary and permanent structures for utility, infrastructure, and heavy civil projects, preparing calculation submittals, design drawings, and supporting bids with analyses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 0–2 years’ design experience for temporary works / infrastructure.
  • FE exam completed; master’s degree in structures preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Mathcad, finite element analysis, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop calculation submittals and design/shop drawings.
  • Support bids with preliminary evaluations and analyses.
  • Collaborate with engineers and coordinate with design and field teams.
  • Assist senior engineers with assigned duties.

Design Engineer, Geostructural - Mi-Tech Services, Inc.

Responsibilities

In your role as a geostructural engineer at Mi-Tech, you’ll design a wide variety of temporary and permanent structures associated with the construction of utility, infrastructure and heavy civil projects. Primary job responsibilities include developing calculation submittals, design and shop drawings, and supporting project pursuits and bids through preliminary evaluations and analyses. Additional tasks include supporting other engineers, communicating and coordinating with design and field teams, and providing support to senior engineers with any other assigned duties.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 0 to 2 years of experience in the design of temporary works, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures preferred
  • Successful completion of the FE exam
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and finite element analysis
  • Previous construction field experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a quickly changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication are required
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team
