Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Design Engineer for the Burndy Small Hydent product family. The role collaborates with Manufacturing, Product Management, Design Engineering, Sourcing, and Purchasing to drive product development and execution.

The position may be based at our Manchester, NH or Hamilton, OH facilities, with responsibilities spanning design, testing, and manufacturing interfaces to enhance product quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (required).
• Proficiency in CAD Software such as Autodesk Inventor or similar (required).
• 3–6 years industry experience in product development.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong organizational skills in documenting design, testing, and validation processes.
• Experience with designing and testing for regulatory requirements (UL, CSA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Participating in New Product Development (NPD) teams to deliver new products with a high degree of complexity; including requirements analysis and system design.
• Designing, developing, testing, and validation for new and existing products.
• Creating 3D models and drawings using Autodesk/Inventor.
• Designing and evaluating products, parts, and processes for cost efficiency and reliability.
• Contributing design modifications to improve the quality and function of the products.
• Interacting with other engineers, sales, and production, as well as with vendors and supply chain.
