Job description

Teamwork makes the stream work. Roku is changing how the world watches TV Roku is the #1 TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and we've set our sights on powering every television in the world. Roku pioneered streaming to the TV. Our mission is to be the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem. We connect consumers to the content they love, enable content publishers to build and monetize large audiences, and provide advertisers unique capabilities to engage consumers. From your first day at Roku, you'll make a valuable - and valued - contribution. We're a fast-growing public company where no one is a bystander. We offer you the opportunity to delight millions of TV streamers around the world while gaining meaningful experience across a variety of disciplines.

What does the team work on?

Roku is the #1 TV streaming platform in the U.S., and we've set our sights on powering every television in the world. Roku pioneered streaming to the TV. Our mission is to be the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem. We connect consumers to the content they love, enable content publishers to build and monetize large audiences, and provide advertisers with unique capabilities to engage customers. We believe that great user experiences come from people who have the vision to see the big picture while still maintaining incredible attention to detail.

What is the role?

Roku is seeking a UX Product Designer to join the Partner Tools team, supporting the design of enterprise experiences that enable both internal and external partners to efficiently complete critical tasks and achieve business goals. In this role, you will design intuitive, user-centered solutions for internal tools that streamline partner workflows, including self-service capabilities for content partners to manage and merchandise their own content. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams — including product management, engineering, and business stakeholders — to define user journeys and create interaction designs that enhance the partner experience. This role requires a proactive approach, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while delivering high-quality design outcomes. You will own your designs end-to-end, from requirements gathering through implementation support, and will contribute to design critiques and formal reviews with UX leadership. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in enterprise tools design, a passion for solving complex problems, and the ability to communicate design decisions effectively across diverse disciplines.

For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $150,000 - $175,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

How will I use AI at Roku?

At Roku, we don't just use AI, we work with it. AI agents and smart tools help power drafts, analysis, and repetitive workflows, while our people bring direction, judgment, and accountability. We value curious, adaptable builders who can show how they've used AI, agents, or automation to move faster, improve quality, and scale their impact. Strong candidates know how to frame problems, guide AI-assisted work, review outputs, and learn quickly. Above all, they bring curiosity, adaptability, and sound judgment.

What are the responsibilities of the role?
  • Design innovative, intuitive solutions for new features and enhancements across a variety of enterprise tools used by Roku's internal and external partners
  • Gather requirements and create user-centered experience flows, incorporating cross-functional input from teams across Roku
  • Partner with product managers and business stakeholders to identify problems, business goals, and user outcomes that inform design decisions
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams throughout the full product and feature lifecycle
  • Utilize user journeys and research insights to guide and frame design approaches
  • Own designs end-to-end and communicate design rationale effectively to colleagues across diverse disciplines
  • Give and receive constructive feedback in regular design critiques with peers and in formal design reviews with UX leadership
  • Plan and deliver design presentations to UX leadership, stakeholders, and executive teams
  • Advocate for the user by integrating research findings and usability best practices into all design work
What experience would help someone be successful in this role at Roku?
  • 3+ years of experience in UX or product design with the ability to work independently alongside a product team and other designers
  • Demonstrated experience designing for enterprise tools or B2B platforms
  • Strong knowledge of current web standards and responsive design principles
  • Portfolio showcasing projects that demonstrate user-centered design solutions with measurable outcomes (please include an online portfolio link with your resume)
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and embrace opportunities to rapidly iterate on designs
  • Hands-on experience collaborating with user researchers or conducting user research, and applying findings to inform design decisions
  • Deep empathy for users and a passion for innovation and problem-solving
  • Proficiency in UX design tools such as Figma or similar platforms for creating user interfaces
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • Advanced and demonstrable skills with generative AI tools or workflows applied to UX #LI-SB5

What should I know about Roku's culture?

Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humor. We believe a fewer number of very talented folks can do more for less cost than a larger number of less talented teams. We're independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. In short, at Roku you'll be part of a company that's changing how the world watches TV. We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem-solvers, which itself is a two-part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn't real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.
