Job summary

Sunset is seeking a design-engineering lead to own the interaction from problem to production for enterprise data workflows. You will build production-grade interfaces in TypeScript and React, turning ambiguous problems into clear, usable experiences.

You will collaborate with customers, Product, and Engineering, use AI thoughtfully, and deliver interfaces that teach users trust and clarity. This role offers ownership and fast growth within a startup environment.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of professional experience designing and building digital products.
• Credible in interaction design and production frontend code (TypeScript, React, CSS).
• Able to explore several interaction directions quickly without treating prototypes as production software.
• Experience using code as a design material and turning ambiguous problems into concrete interfaces.
• Startup experience and willingness to own end-to-end design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Study how customers and our team acquire enterprise work data and recover from failures.
• Turn branching, long-running, and exception-heavy workflows into clear information architecture and interfaces.
• Explore flows with fidelity appropriate to the question and move from sketches into coded interactions.
• Build production-quality interfaces in TypeScript and React with responsive behavior and accessibility.
• Implement tests, instrumentation, and robust failure states in the UI layer.
• Improve visual hierarchy, layout, copy, motion, and flow across existing surfaces.
• Design trust moments: progress, provenance, permissions, uncertainty, errors, and recovery.
• Collaborate with customers, Product, and Engineering to test assumptions before polishing solutions.
• Create reusable components and interaction patterns to support new providers and workflows.
