Job summary

HUD is seeking a Design Engineer to craft and build intuitive interfaces across our platform and marketplace. You’ll help users create and evaluate environments, interpret agent behavior, and influence training data decisions with clear, actionable results.

You will collaborate with researchers and engineers, balancing practical execution with a strategic point of view on what to show, how to explain results, and where to give users control. Strong usability and communication are essential.

Qualifications

Strong product and interaction design judgment for complex tools or workflows.
Front-end engineering skills to translate designs into working interfaces.
Proven track record shipping products and learning from users.
Ability to present technical concepts clearly to users.

Responsibilities

Design and build interfaces across HUD’s platform and marketplace, from concepts through shipped product.
Make agent runs, evaluation results, reward signals, and quality feedback understandable and actionable.
Turn complex RL and evaluation workflows into useful tools with research and engineering.
Talk with users, observe struggles, and use insights to improve the product.
Develop thoughtful interaction patterns and maintain high usability and visual quality.
