Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 2–5 years of aerospace, manufacturing, or product development experience.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D CAD models, drawings, and data packages.
  • Design and improve mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
  • Perform tolerance analysis and manufacturability evaluations.
  • Support FAA Part 21/Part 145 activities and PMA documentation.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and repair operations.

Aerospace Product Development, Repair Engineering & Systems Integration

Position Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineer to support the development, reverse engineering, certification, repair, and sustainment of aerospace mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. This position combines traditional mechanical engineering responsibilities with electronics integration, controls, embedded systems, and system-level troubleshooting.

The successful candidate will support product development, PMA activities, repair capability development, manufacturing support, and continuous improvement efforts while working closely with Systems, Electrical, Compliance, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management teams.

Mechanical Design & Product Development

  • Develop 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical data packages.
  • Design and improve mechanical and electro-mechanical aerospace components and assemblies.
  • Perform tolerance analysis, fit/function assessments, and design-for-manufacturability evaluations.
  • Support configuration management and engineering change activities.
  • Reverse engineer aircraft components and assemblies utilizing dimensional inspection, testing, and engineering analysis.
  • Create production-level drawings, models, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Evaluate existing designs and identify opportunities for product improvement and cost reduction.


Electro-Mechanical Systems

  • Troubleshoot and evaluate motors, actuators, switches, sensors, relays, solenoids, and control assemblies.
  • Support integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Develop interface requirements between mechanical and electronic subsystems.
  • Assist in circuit analysis, component selection, and system troubleshooting.


Testing & Validation

  • Develop engineering test plans and acceptance test procedures.
  • Execute functional, life-cycle, environmental, and qualification testing.
  • Analyze test data and prepare engineering reports.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities.


Manufacturing & Production Support

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and repair operations.
  • Resolve production issues through engineering analysis.
  • Coordinate with Quality Engineering on non-conforming material investigations.
  • Support first article inspection and process validation activities.


Certification & Compliance

  • Assist with FAA Part 21 and Part 145 engineering activities.
  • Support compliance demonstrations, substantiations, and engineering analyses.
  • Develop documentation supporting PMA, repair, and certification efforts.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with AS9100 and applicable regulatory requirements.
Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a similar engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of engineering experience in aerospace, manufacturing, industrial automation, or product development.

Preferred

  • Aerospace industry experience.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with aircraft cargo systems, actuators, or motion-control systems.
  • Basic PCB and electrical schematic interpretation skills.
