Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2–5 years of relevant industry experience or Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience or Associate’s degree with 5+ years Automotive Plastic design experience.
• Education with Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing specialties preferred.
• Knowledge and working experience with DFMEA, GD&T, DFM.
• Experience using Catia V5/V6 to create 3-D models and 2D drawings.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross functional group setting and provide technical guidance to Senior Management.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and tooling.
• Exposure to CAE preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering design and development activities for large scale product programs.
• Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
• Create part specification requirements and BOM.
• Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
• Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection.
• Apply best practices to improve products and processes.
• Seek opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce design and parts costs.
• Travel to client sites required.
