Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) in Baton Rouge seeks an experienced Design Engineer 3-5 to support transportation projects through program delivery and design. Positions are in East Baton Rouge Parish and report to Engineer 6.

Possession of a current Louisiana professional engineer license is required; applicants licensed elsewhere must obtain LA licensure before appointment. SER hourly rates range from $38.54 to $47.21, with opportunities for career progression and

Qualifications

Must possess a current Louisiana professional engineer license.
Experience in designing transportation projects and program delivery.
Knowledge of state and federal design standards and policies.
Training is provided with opportunities for career progression.

Responsibilities

Prepare construction plans for pavement preservation and related projects at district level, including guard rail and drainage design.
Prepare and process proposals and contracts for bids and review bids for compliance.
Apply design standards and use CAD, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
Provide technical assistance to district staff and participate in committees as requested.
