Job summary

Sandis is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Oakland, CA team. The ideal candidate will have civil design, permitting experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD. Projects include diverse land development site designs.

You will contribute to improvement plans, design utility systems, assist with grading, coordinate with architects and engineers, and provide construction support. EIT preferred; 2+ years of experience and a Civil Engineering degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• EIT Certification preferred.
• Familiar with AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with rough/finish grading plans.
• Knowledge of sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and water distribution.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing improvement plans including rough/finish grading, stormwater management, and utility plans.
• Design of utility systems including water, sanitary, and storm drain.
• Assist with fire flow tests.
• Coordinate with Architects, Landscape Architects, and MEP Engineers.
• Provide engineering support during construction, including RFIs and site observations.
• Prepare technical engineering reports.
• Coordinate with private, public, and governmental agencies.

Cool Stuff you get to do:

• Assist with developing improvement plans including rough/finish grading, stormwater management, and utility plans.

• Engineering support during construction, including review of material submittals, answering Requests for Information (RFIs), site observations among other things.
• Conduct engineering assessments.
• Prepare technical engineering reports.
• Coordinate with private, public, and governmental agencies.
