Job summary

CMC seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to support tilt-up projects across our fabrication and construction operations. You will review drawings, perform lifting and bracing design, and calculate loads to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer license is a plus.
• Ability to read Architectural and Structural Drawings/Specifications.
• Able to sit/stand for up to 8 hours.
• Strong problem solving and collaboration with engineers, designers, and detailers.
• Familiarity with U.S. codes (ACI, AISC, NDS, IBC, ASCE).
• AutoCAD and REVIT skills preferred.
• Knowledge of structural analysis software desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review tilt-up engineering lifting and bracing details and panel shop drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform lifting and bracing engineering design.
• Calculate bracing loads and capacity of walls, floors and anchor blocks.
• Coordinate with technical engineers and operations personnel to integrate new technologies and provide troubleshooting support.
• Interface with customers and salesmen to coordinate project priorities and schedule.
• Review and correct shop drawings, including tilt-up, lifting, and bracing design.
• Calculate reinforced concrete capacity to resist stresses from tilt-up erection.
• Establish and maintain standard procedures for shop drawings details.
• Perform QA/QC for tilt-up building projects.
• Perform miscellaneous engineering functions as needed.

What You'll Do

• Review and check tilt-up engineering lifting and bracing engineering details and panel construction shop drawings for accuracy and completeness
• Perform lifting and bracing engineering design
• Calculate bracing loads and capacity of walls, floors and anchor blocks to resist them
• Interact with technical engineers and non-technical operations personnel to integrate new technologies and update existing systems, as well as provide technical troubleshooting support to operations.
• Interface with customers and salesmen as required to coordinate project priorities and schedule
• Review, check and correct shop drawings to include occasionally performing tilt up, lifting, and bracing engineering design
• Calculate reinforced concrete capacity to resist applied stresses from erection of tilt-up panels
• Establish and maintain standard procedures for shop drawings details
• Performing QA/QC for tilt up building projects
• Perform miscellaneous engineering functions as the need arises

What You'll Need

• Professional Engineer license considered a plus
• Ability to sit and stand for duration of shift, up to 8 hours
• Demonstrates dependability in work completion and flexibility in schedule to meet business needs.
• Must be able to read Architectural and Structural Drawings/Specifications
• Good problem solving skills is a must
• Ability to work with other engineers, designers, and detailers
• Familiarity with structural analysis software is desirable, but not required
• Strong understanding of U.S. standards and building codes such as ACI, AISC, NDS, IBC and ASCE
• AutoCAD and Microsoft Office knowledge required, REVIT preferred
