Qualifications

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced In-House Design Engineer with a strong background in industrial automation, electrical controls, and high-pressure steam boiler systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, commissioning, and supporting automation systems while ensuring safe and reliable operation of industrial equipment. This role requires travel to customer sites for installation, startup, troubleshooting, and system support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support electrical control systems for industrial applications.
• Calibrate and commission various transmitters, drives, and instrumentation used in high-pressure steam boiler systems.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC control logic and comparison/sequence logic for automation systems.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot Rockwell Automation PLCs and related automation hardware.
• Create and modify electrical schematics, panel layouts, and system drawings using AutoCAD.
• Support system integration, testing, startup, commissioning, and field service activities.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and automation issues at customer sites.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and field service teams to ensure project success.
• Maintain technical documentation, control narratives, and electrical drawings.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and company quality procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year associate's or equivalent technical training focused on electrical. Mechanical engineering w/ electrical electives.
• Experience designing and supporting industrial electrical control systems.
• Hands-on experience calibrating transmitters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and instrumentation in high-pressure steam boiler or similar industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming, control logic, and industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency with Rockwell Automation platforms, including Allen-Bradley PLCs and related software.
• Experience using AutoCAD Electrical or AutoCAD for electrical design.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, instrumentation, and process controls.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel as required for customer installations, commissioning, and service support.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites.
