Job summary

Design Within Reach in Berkeley, CA is seeking a Sales Assistant to support the team with day-to-day store operations, customer service, and order coordination. You will learn visual merchandising and product knowledge while gaining hands-on experience in a design-focused retail environment.

You will report to the Assistant Manager and collaborate with sales and visual teams. Prior retail or customer-facing experience is a plus, and there is opportunity for growth and training in merchandising

Qualifications

• Interest in design, retail, or customer service.
• Previous retail or customer-facing experience is a plus, but not required.
• Comfortable using Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Gmail, and navigating websites.
• Willingness to learn systems like Salesforce and design software.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with order processing, delivery coordination, and client follow-up.
• Help maintain the store's visual presentation and product displays.
• Assist with inventory of marketing materials, swatches, and office supplies.
• Learn about our products and design principles through training and team meetings.
• Communicate with clients via phone and email to provide helpful, friendly service.
