Job summary

Joi AI is a platform delivering emotionally intelligent AI companions, with Joi Lab driving open-source models and tooling. You will own the full user experience across ads, onboarding, character selection, chat, and media generation.

The role requires leading a design team, shaping the design system, and collaborating across product, analytics, marketing, and engineering to ship measurable improvements. Fluency in English and a strong visual sense are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years leading a design team of 3+ in daily-use B2C products.
• Experience with products serving 2M+ MAU or $50M+ revenue is required.
• Provide cases showing how design moved business metrics (before/after conversions).
• Strong product design expertise in UX, UI, user flows, IA, and prototyping.
• Fluent in Figma; experience building and maintaining design systems.
• Experience with A/B testing and roadmap-focused research.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end user experience from ads to onboarding, chat, media generation, and retention loops.
• Move product metrics through design, form hypotheses, prioritize on the roadmap, validate via A/B tests, release with measurable outcomes.
• Set a single design direction and evolve the design system across UI, visual language, content, animation, and UX copy.

• Turn user research, interviews, and support insights into concrete roadmap initiatives with clear rationale and path to implementation.

Its characters have their own personalities, moods, and voices, and the platform serves emotional and intimate needs. Joi Lab is its open research arm, building open-source generative models, agent architectures, and training infrastructure.

• Own the end-to-end user experience, from ad creative and landing pages through onboarding, character selection, chat, media generation, and retention loops
• Move product metrics through design by forming hypotheses, prioritizing them against the roadmap, validating them through A/B tests, and taking them to release with measurable outcomes
• Set a single design direction and evolve the design system, including UI, UX patterns, character visual language, generated content, animation, and UX copy
• Lead and grow the design team, and build cross-functional relationships with product, analytics, marketing, and engineering from prototype to release
• Turn user research, interviews, and support insights into concrete roadmap initiatives with clear rationale and an implementation path

• At least 3 years leading a design team of 3 or more in B2C daily-use products
• Experience with products at 2M+ MAU or $50M+ revenue
• Provide cases showing how design work measurably moved the business, including what changed, why, and before-and-after conversion, retention, or LTV numbers
• Strong product design expertise in UX, UI, user flows, information architecture, and prototyping
• Fluent in Figma; experience building and maintaining design systems
• Experience working within the product function, including A/B testing, prioritization frameworks such as RICE, and research that reaches the roadmap
• A strong visual eye and an analytical mindset
• English at C1 or above
• Genuine comfort with adult and AI-companion content
