Job summary

Amplitude, Inc. seeks a strong design leader to guide a 15-person team and stay hands-on to elevate quality across the product suite. You will drive the design strategy for Core Amplitude, Statsig, and Wave, shaping how AI agents and humans work together in workflows.

You will ship AI-native experiences, mentor engineers and designers, and raise the bar for craft and coherence in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Senior, independent IC designers respected for product and craft judgement.
• Shipped products with measurable customer and business impact quickly.
• Created structure inside a fast-growing organization.
• Delivered AI-native experiences and used AI tools in practice.
• Portfolio shows systems-level thinking and pixel-level craft.
• Bonus: design for both technical and non-technical users.
• Bonus: experience with Analytics, Experimentation, or Developer tools.

Responsibilities

• Build the team: hire, grow, and retain a high-performing design team with direct feedback.
• Set direction: drive the design strategy for Amplitude's product suite and define agent-human workflows.
• Champion craft: elevate design quality and execution across surfaces.
• Hold a high bar: establish standards and prevent quality erosion.
• Stay in production: ship design through code and attention to detail.
• Speak for the customer: advocate for customer needs in leadership conversations.
