Job summary

Ezra Lee Design+Build is seeking a Design Project Manager to drive projects from concept to installation, ensuring alignment with design intent, schedule, and budget. You’ll blend project management with construction oversight and collaborate with architects, interior designers, and in-house construction teams.

The role requires tenacity, an eye for detail, and leadership to rally the team and clear obstacles, while maintaining clear communication with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in project management, construction management, or design coordination.
• Working knowledge of architecture, interior design, and construction processes, from design phases through installation.
• Hands-on experience creating spec books, managing budgets, gathering quotes, and procuring furniture, fixtures, and equipment is preferred but not required.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; strong command of Microsoft Office and project management tools. Knowledge of design tools including Autodesk is a plus.
• Experience with invoicing, construction draws, purchase orders, and project cost tracking.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables across the design and construction teams, keeping every project moving forward on time.
• Monitor project budgets from design through construction, flagging risks early and keeping clients and firm leadership informed.
• Maintain detailed task lists, action items, and meeting notes; and follow up relentlessly until every item is closed out.
• Anticipate roadblocks and proactively resolve issues before they become problems.
• Create and maintain project spec books for finishes, fixtures, appliances, equipment, and furnishings.
• Build and manage budgets, tracking finish selections against allowances and communicating changes clearly.
• Request, compare, and manage equipment and vendor quotes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and value.
• Manage furniture and décor procurement from purchase order through delivery and installation, tracking orders and lead times.
• Review client invoices for accuracy against contracts, budgets, change orders, and completed work before they are sent.
• Review construction draw requests against the project budget, schedule, and work in place, flagging discrepancies before approval.
• Track and reconcile vendor invoices, purchase orders, and project costs in partnership with our accounting team.
