Ezra Lee Design+Build | Utah | Full-Time, In-Person
About Ezra Lee Design+Build
Ezra Lee Design+Build is a full-service architecture, interior design, and construction firm that creates distinctive, high-performance spaces where creativity, craftsmanship, and functionality meet. We design lifestyles, legacies, and opportunities for inspiration.
Our clients are visionary achievers who expect beauty and performance in equal measure. They trust us to lead with clarity, creativity, and purpose.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a Senior Interior Designer to shape the interiors of our largest and most complex projects from first concept through final installation. This role sits at the heart of our design process and is equal parts creative vision, technical follow-through, and studio leadership. It is made for someone with the invention to imagine how a space should look and feel, the tenacity to carry every selection and detail through to completion, and the discernment to know what belongs and what doesn't.
This is a hands‑on design role first. The Senior Interior Designer carries a full project load of large-scale, high-complexity work, bringing the same level of production we value across the studio. Alongside that work, this person serves as a trusted resource for the interior design team and helps shape how the studio operates.
This person works across every phase of design, collaborating closely with our interior design team, architecture team, design project managers, and in-house construction team, and plays a hands‑on role in how our clients experience their spaces.
The ideal candidate brings a designer's invention, a builder's tenacity, and a leader's discernment.
Key Responsibilities
Interior Design & Documentation
- Develop interior design for large-scale, complex projects across all phases, from space planning and layouts through finishes, fixtures, furnishings, and lighting.
- Bring original, inventive thinking to every project, exploring ideas boldly before refining them into a cohesive, resolved design.
- Translate design concepts into clear presentations, material palettes, and renderings that help clients see and feel the vision.
- Produce interior drawings, elevations, millwork details, and specifications for your projects, carrying design intent all the way to installation.
- Ensure quality, consistency, and code compliance across all interior documentation.
Selections, Procurement & Coordination
- Curate and specify finishes, materials, fixtures, furniture, and décor, balancing aesthetics, performance, lead times, and budget.
- Coordinate closely with clients, the architecture team, and the construction team to align design vision, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage relationships with vendors, showrooms, fabricators, and trades by tracking samples, orders, and lead times, and following up until every item is delivered and installed.
- Partner with the design project managers and construction team to resolve field conditions and keep installations true to design intent.
Project Ownership
- Own assigned projects end to end, managing your own schedule, priorities, and deliverables.
- Balance your own project production with broader studio responsibilities, managing your time so that both move forward.
- Exercise sound judgment when editing design options and weighing client wishes, budget, and function, knowing what to keep, what to cut, and when to push an idea further.
- Serve as a go‑to resource for interior designers, offering guidance and a second set of eyes when questions come up on their own projects.
- Review drawings, selections, and presentations on projects beyond your direct assignments, helping maintain quality and consistency across the studio's portfolio.
- Identify opportunities to improve studio processes, workflows, templates, and standards, and partner with the Studio Operations Director to put them in practice.
- Help uphold the studio's design and technical standards and contribute to its resource library and best practices.
Professional Development & Industry Engagement
- Evaluate vendor events, showroom launches, and ASID and IIDA programming, and recommend the ones that are worth the interior design team's time.
- Share and promote selected events with the team, encouraging participation that supports growth, relationships, and continuing education.
- Stay current on materials, products, and industry trends, and bring relevant insights back to the studio.
- Represent Ezra Lee Design+Build at industry events, building strong relationships with vendors, showrooms, and peers.
What Success Looks Like
- Your interiors feel inventive, cohesive, and specific to each client, even on the most complex projects.
- Clients feel confident in their selections and excited about how their spaces will look and live.
- Coordination with the Design Project Manager leads to a well‑executed project that is on time and in budget.
- The construction team builds and installs from your drawings and specifications with few surprises.
- Interior designers know they can come to you with questions, and the quality of work across the studio is stronger for it.
- Studio processes run more smoothly because of improvements you've helped put in place.
- The team's time is invested in events and learning opportunities that matter most.
- Firm leadership trusts you to take a project and run with it and knows it will be done well.

- Proficiency in Revit (required); proficiency in visualization tools and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Experience working through all phases of design, from schematic design to construction documents and through installation.
- Strong knowledge of finishes, materials, FF&E, lighting, and millwork, along with relevant building codes and accessibility requirements.
- A portfolio that demonstrates original, inventive design work and resolved technical documentation on complex residential projects.
- Familiarity with the design industry community, including vendors, showrooms, and organizations.
- A track record of improving processes and supporting the work of a design team.
