Stock & Trade Design Co. is seeking a Design Consultant to join our in-person showroom team in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. The role supports customers with product selection, design guidance, and sales assistance, ensuring a premium shopping experience.

The position emphasizes strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to close sales while delivering high-level customer service. Retail hands-on experience is valued, with opportunities across full-time or part-time schedules.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience is required.
• Open availability for Full-Time; weekends and holidays may be required.
• Part-Time must work 20 hours per week minimum; weekend shifts may be necessary.
• Strong computer skills, attention to detail, and basic math.
• Past experience in interior design or home furnishings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests to the showroom warmly and professionally.
• Maintain a positive attitude with customers and team at all times.
• Represent the brand through communication, appearance and professionalism.
• Answer customer questions on the sales floor and actively engage shoppers.
• Provide complete design solutions based on customer needs and budget to close sales.
• Ask open-ended questions to identify if customers need design services.
• Stay informed on current home furnishing and design trends.
• Create and process invoices, purchase orders, and transfers via POS with accuracy.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction with excellent service and follow-up after sale.
• Reach out to past customers with updates on backorders and ETA.
• Meet or exceed monthly goals or quotas set by store manager or corporate.

Work Location: In person

REQUIRED

• Previous retail experience

DUTIES

• Answer customers questions on sales floor
• Actively seek out customers in-store & approach as the situation dictates
• Provide complete individualized design solutions based on identified customer needs and budget to close the sale
• Ask open-ended questions to determine if customer needs design services
• Stay knowledgeable and up-to-date on current home furnishing & design trends
• Create & process invoices, purchase orders and transfers via the POS system with accuracy per company policies & procedures
• Ensure high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service & follow-up after the sale
• Regularly contact past customers who are waiting on product to provide up to date information on backorders & ETA’s
• Meet or exceed all monthly goals or quotas, as assigned by the store manager or corporate office
• Attend product knowledge training classes, as assigned
• Comply with inventory control procedures
• Participates in cycle counts & physical inventories
• Assists in opening decorative accessories & pricing in downtime
• Ability to stand & maneuver on concrete sales floor for long durations (rest periods provided)
• Participates in opening & closing of the galleries: sweep, windex, vacuum, straighten sales floor, dust
• Participate & support any policy changes, procedure changes, new systems or work rules the company implements
• Other duties as assigned
