Design Consultant

AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Design Consultant based in Denver, CO. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Design Consultant will be key in planning and launching new products. Responsibilities include consulting with customers, presenting products, assisting with sales, and building relationships with Architects, Interior Designers, Builders, Contractors, and Installers to foster new and repeat business. Our aim is to provide excellent service and customer satisfaction.

Job Duties:

1. Use the order entry system for pricing, inventory, customer info, delivery dates, back-orders, etc. Enter orders and slab holds as needed.
2. Coordinate with Outside Sales Reps and Sales Managers regarding client selection information.
3. Handle incoming customer service inquiries in person and over the phone.
4. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work and showroom areas, including displays and samples.
5. Support safety policies and practices.
6. Assist customers with product knowledge and design material selection.
7. Demonstrate confidence, motivation, organization, and strong closing and presentation skills.
8. Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, contractors, and management to ensure smooth order-to-installation process.
9. Create a memorable shopping and selection experience for customers.
10. Assess customer needs and tailor presentations accordingly.
11. Provide exceptional service, expertise, and convenience throughout the sales process.
12. Stay informed about current inventory, colors, specifications through regular reviews and industry updates.
13. Support outside sales representatives with resources and information.
14. Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
15. Organize showroom literature, idea centers, and sample library.
16. Assist clients in selecting and specifying tile, natural stone, slabs, and related products, offering alternatives and solutions.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Associate degree in interior design or related field preferred.
• Background in design, construction, or interior design education.
• Passion and knowledge of interior design and space planning.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strategic and tactical thinking abilities.
• Positive attitude and engagement with clients and team members.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Maintain professional appearance and conduct.
• Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal communication.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Pass pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check.

Physical Demands:

• Stand and sit for extended periods.
• Occasionally lift up to 25-30 pounds.
• Frequently bend, crouch, push, pull, and use ladders for sample organization.
