Job summary

Weekley Homes L.P. in Phoenix seeks an experienced Design City Coordinator to lead development and coordination of residential plans and construction drawings across the division, ensuring compliance with codes, guidelines, and deadlines.

You will partner with Draftspersons and the Design Production Manager, oversee team workloads, and prepare for market product development meetings while maintaining strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; or an applied technical degree in architectural design.
  • Four or more years of experience working with construction documents and plans.
  • Residential design experience and strong knowledge of residential construction drawings required.
  • Two or more years of management experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with tact and professionalism to work effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • A collaborative, detail-oriented approach with problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Preliminary and Final Market Product Development Meetings and lead market-specific First-Time Build and Model walks.
  • Ensure architectural plans comply with municipal codes, permitting requirements, developer guidelines, and lot-specific requirements.
  • Serve as the quality-control checkpoint for new plans, elevations, and plan revisions.
  • Collaborate with Draftspersons to develop address-specific plans for single-family and multi-family projects across the division.
  • Partner with the Design Production Manager to manage workflow, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and collaboration among team members.
  • Meet established monthly and quarterly department performance goals.

This role leads the development and coordination of residential home plans and construction drawings across the division, ensuring they align with municipal requirements, community standards, and developer guidelines. The Design City Coordinator plays an integral role throughout the residential development process, supporting projects from initial design documentation through construction.
