Job summary

McFarland Construction is hiring a Project Manager for commercial construction in the Charlotte market. You will oversee projects from preconstruction to closeout, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and budget adherence. The role suits a design/build PM who thrives in a fast-paced, field-and-office environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of PM experience, strong scheduling and cost control skills, and proficiency with Procore and MS Project. Travel is open as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction.
• Design/build experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook; strong scheduling and reporting skills.
• Open to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple commercial construction projects in Charlotte from preconstruction through closeout.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and coordination with owners, subs, and suppliers.
• Review and enforce contract requirements, bonds, and costs.
• Lead value engineering discussions and cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure safety, quality control, and a respectful work environment.
