Job Description:They are seeking a skilled and experienced
Design-Build Project Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the early stages of the design-build process, ensuring that all project scopes, budgets, schedules, and design considerations are aligned for a successful project outcome.
As a Design-Build Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the preconstruction phase, from initial concept design through to project handoff for construction. You will collaborate with the design and construction teams, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the preconstruction process for design-build projects, including cost estimating, scheduling, value engineering, and risk analysis.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop and refine project scope, design, and budgets.
- Prepare and review conceptual estimates, preliminary schedules, and project proposals.
- Manage and review design documents to ensure constructability, budget compliance, and timely delivery.
- Identify and mitigate potential issues that may impact project scope, budget, and schedule during the preconstruction phase.
- Assist in the development of proposals, contracts, and other preconstruction-related documentation.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders during preconstruction.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
- Conduct value engineering workshops to optimize cost-effective design solutions.
- Work closely with the procurement team to develop and issue bid packages.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in preconstruction management, with a focus on design-build projects.
- Proven experience in managing preconstruction processes, including cost estimating, value engineering, and scheduling.
- Strong knowledge of design-build delivery methods and processes.
- Experience with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and estimating tools (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and clients.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Familiarity with construction codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related fields.
