Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an experienced design-build project manager to oversee design development, detailing schedules, and financial aspects of design contracts. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, estimating, and construction management to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

The role requires 6+ years in engineering or construction management, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Autodesk tools and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or construction science
• 6+ years progressive engineering or construction management experience
• PE licensure preferred
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Excellent analytical and technical writing skills
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with Autodesk products and Revit
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team while meeting deadlines
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to review construction documents
• Understanding of MEP calculations and design, codes and costs
• Ability to develop design tasks and distribute among the team

Responsibilities

• Manage design-build and design-assist projects, ensuring timely delivery
• Develop and maintain client relationships and coordinate with cross-functional teams
• Communicate goals and schedules with BD, engineering, estimating and PM; assess risks
• Manage all financial aspects of design contracts to maintain profitability
• Coordinate pricing with Operations and design PM; support estimating with design
• Develop standards and train team; ensure compliance with codes and design instructions
• Develop and maintain document control according to standards
• Manage QA/QC design/coordination
• Plan and coordinate on-site field surveys to collect and deliver data
• Assist in early procurement leveling as required by the project
