SDV Construction, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Preconstruction Manager to lead estimating and early-stage project strategy across Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Rio Rancho, and the broader New Mexico market.

The role emphasizes conceptual estimating, budget alignment with owners and design teams, and driving successful execution. You will partner with BD, operations, and clients to ensure well-qualified, well-priced pursuits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of preconstruction, estimating, or commercial construction project management experience.
• Proven expertise in conceptual estimating and Design-Build project delivery.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and current market conditions.
• Experience working with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors in a collaborative environment.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools (PlanSwift, BuildingConnected, Excel, or similar).
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy, timelines, and attention to detail.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction and estimating efforts for commercial construction projects from concept through GMP development.
• Perform conceptual estimating, cost modeling, and value engineering.
• Guide clients through Design-Build delivery methods, providing consultative support and budget clarity.
• Conduct detailed plan and specification reviews, quantity takeoffs, and subcontractor bid analysis.
• Collaborate with business development, operations, architects, and engineers to ensure cohesive project planning.
• Develop and manage subcontractor and vendor relationships to support competitive pricing and market insight.
• Utilize estimating software and CRM tools (PlanSwift, BuildingConnected, Excel) to track opportunities and ensure accuracy.
• Mentor and support estimating staff, promoting consistency, accuracy, and process improvement.
