Job summary

Southland Industries offers an internship program designed to immerse students in design-build, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. As a project engineer intern, you will assist a design or project manager in coordinating a project, developing skills in design, estimating, and scheduling to understand design-build processes.

The program provides hands-on experience, mentorship from company leaders, and potential pathways to full-time roles, with housing support in some locations.

Responsibilities

• Support field labor.
• Provide labor feedback to supervisors.
• Support equipment and subcontractor procurement.
• Ensure document control.
• Support design, trade, and subcontractor coordination.
• Assist in budget analysis, cost and margin projections, and project change estimates.
• Assist in developing project schedules.
