Job summary

Mechanical Solutions, Inc. is offering an internship in St. Louis, MO for Summer 2027. You will shadow Project Engineers, Project Managers, Estimators, and Safety Professionals, gaining hands-on experience across design-build construction projects.

You will participate in active site visits, learn safety practices, and support preconstruction planning while building strong client and subcontractor relationships.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university.
• Foundational understanding of construction principles and practices.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a flexible, collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.
• Experience with subcontracts, subcontractors, or self-perform work is a plus.
• Committed to upholding and promoting a Safety-First culture.
• Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of navigating active construction sites, including walking, climbing ladders, and accessing multi‑floor scaffolding.
• Projects are located nationwide; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate strong relationships with clients and subcontractors to support project success
• Collaborate with engineers and planners to develop and maintain project schedules
• Support the creation of accurate project forecasts and budgets
• Oversee cost management, change orders, RFIs, and other project documentation
• Take ownership of project execution and delivery
• Contribute to preconstruction planning, quality assurance, and safety initiatives
• Assist senior project managers in overseeing construction activities
• You will have leadership and guidance to support project teams throughout all phases
