Job summary

Vision Electric & Systems is seeking an undergraduate intern for Summer 2027 in the St. Louis area, based in Missouri.

The role involves supporting design/build electrical construction projects, cultivating relationships with clients and subcontractors, and aiding engineers and planners in developing schedules and forecasts. Responsibilities include assisting with cost management, change orders, RFIs, and project documentation, while taking ownership of delivery under senior PM guidance.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university
• Foundational understanding of construction principles and practices
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a flexible, collaborative approach to working with diverse teams
• Experience with subcontracts, subcontractors, or self-perform work is a plus
• Creative, results-driven, and able to work with a sense of urgency
• Prior internship or project engineering experience on projects valued at $5 million or more (design-build experience preferred)
• Committed to upholding and promoting a Safety-First culture
• Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically capable of navigating active construction sites, including walking, climbing ladders, and accessing multi-floor scaffolding
• Fast-paced work environment—appropriate job site footwear and attire required
• Projects are located nationwide; travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Cultivate strong relationships with clients and subcontractors to support project success
• Collaborate with engineers and planners to develop and maintain project schedules
• Support the creation of accurate project forecasts and budgets
• Oversee cost management, change orders, RFIs, and other project documentation
• Take ownership of project execution and delivery
• Contribute to preconstruction planning, quality assurance, and safety initiatives
• Assist senior project managers in overseeing construction activities
• You will have leadership and guidance to support project teams throughout all phases
