Job summary

ARCO Design/Build in the United States seeks a Construction Design/Build Project Manager Intern/Co-op to gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle from concept to final delivery.

You will work with seasoned DBMs, learning estimating, scheduling, design meetings, permitting, shop drawings, and daily site visits while developing professional skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in accredited civil, mechanical, architectural, construction management, building science, or construction engineering undergraduate or graduate program.
• Driver’s License.
• Excellent verbal communication, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
• Previous Co-op or Intern experience in construction preferred, but not required.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Concept to completion exposure through project lifecycle.
• Learn estimating and takeoffs to describe project proposals and assign accurate dollar values.
• Assist in scheduling subcontractor activities.
• Attend design meetings with the owner and design team.
• Prepare weekly progress reports and document actions.
• Shadow project calls and site meetings to observe leadership.
• Assist with buyout, bids, and subcontract awards.
• Support permitting with city/county/fire authorities.
• Review shop drawings and submittals and communicate approvals.
• Learn billing, pay requests, and change orders.
• Visit job sites to monitor progress.
• Participate in offsite trainings and learning sessions.
• Support business development activities.
