Job summary

Johnston Design Group in Greenville, SC, seeks a Design Architect to lead design on concurrent projects and oversee select projects through construction. In-studio, hybrid, or remote, full-time role with a focus on restorative, sustainable design and clear client communication.

You will collaborate with project teams and contribute to urban mixed-use and multifamily projects, using Revit and SketchUp, while delivering viable, cost-conscious solutions.

Qualifications

• Licensed architect in any U.S. jurisdiction with the ability to obtain South Carolina registration.
• 8+ years of professional experience.
• Design experience in urban mixed-use and multifamily projects.
• Commitment to sustainable, restorative design with a practical, business-minded approach.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Revit and SketchUp.
• Availability Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern.

Responsibilities

• Lead design on concurrent projects alongside each project's architect and project manager.
• Develop site-responsive concepts through schematic design and design development.
• Lead urban mixed-use and multifamily design, including massing, unit planning, and street presence.
• Bring restorative strategies to every project and frame them in terms of cost and value.
• Present to clients, developers, and city design review boards.
• Serve as project architect on a few projects of your own, through construction.
