Based in Tallahassee, you will collaborate across education, hospitality, healthcare, and multi-family sectors, delivering compelling spaces with sustainable solutions and precise construction documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field from a CIDA accredited program.
  • 8–10 years of professional interior design experience (internship acceptable).
  • NCIDQ certification required.
  • Experience on small to mid-size commercial projects (education, hospitality, multi-family, healthcare).
  • Proficient in senior design software and construction documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from initial client meetings to final walkthroughs.
  • Coordinate on multiple projects across programming, space planning, design development, and construction administration.
  • Prepare contract documents including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, millwork drawings, furniture layouts, finish schedules.
  • Research manufacturers and select colors, finishes, materials, and lighting with a focus on sustainable solutions.
  • Create presentation materials and models for client presentations (physical and digital).
  • Mentor and supervise junior designers and collaborate with consultants and partners.

Job description

DAG Architects is seeking a full-time SeniorInterior Designer to lead interior design projects from concept through completion, overseeing design development, client coordination, and project delivery. This role involves making key design decisions, managing budgets and timelines, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring design quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from initial client meetings to final walkthroughs, translating needs into designs.
  • Collaborate on multiple projects concurrently, including programming, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration
  • Prepare accurate contract documents such as floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, millwork drawings, furniture layouts, finish plans, and schedules.
  • Research manufacturers and assist in the selection of colors, finishes, materials, furniture, and lighting, with a focus on sustainable solutions
  • Create presentation materials, diagrams, and physical and mostly digital models for client presentations
  • Support project teams and studio initiatives, collaborating with consultants and partners as required
  • Mentor and supervise junior designers.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Exposure to sustainable design practices and materials
  • Experience working on small to mid-size commercial projects including education, hospitality, multi-family, healthcare and more.
  • Education and Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field from CIDA accredited program
  • 8-10 years of professional experience (internship experience acceptable)
  • Must have NCIDQ certification
  • Professional experience and proficient Senior design software (SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, Lumion. Enscape, Adobe Suite)
  • Strong knowledge of construction documentation and detailing
  • Knowledge of FF&E, materials, and finish specifications
