Job summary

Johnston Design Group in Greenville, SC, seeks a Design Architect to lead design on concurrent projects and oversee select projects through construction. In-studio, hybrid, or remote, full-time role with a focus on restorative, sustainable design and clear client communication.

You will collaborate with project teams and contribute to urban mixed-use and multifamily projects, using Revit and SketchUp, while delivering viable, cost-conscious solutions.

Qualifications

• Licensed architect in any U.S. jurisdiction with the ability to obtain South Carolina registration.
• 8+ years of professional experience.
• Design experience in urban mixed-use and multifamily projects.
• Commitment to sustainable, restorative design with a practical, business-minded approach.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Revit and SketchUp.
• Availability Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern.

Responsibilities

Johnston Design Group is a boutique architecture firm in Greenville, South Carolina, and a leader in restorative design: buildings that enhance the well-being of their occupants, achieve economy through conservation, and honor the natural resources of every site. We design in different shades of green, practical, economically sound sustainability, not dogma.

The Role

As Design Architect, you'll partner with our project architects and project managers through the design phases of multiple projects at once, raising the design bar across the studio. You'll also carry a small load of your own projects as full project architect, from first sketch through construction.

• Custom residential experience.

Work Arrangement

In studio, hybrid, or fully remote. Digital nomads are welcome, with reliable internet, core-hours availability, and occasional travel to Greenville and project sites.
