Job summary

Patterson-UTI Drilling is seeking a Derrickhand to manage mud systems, weigh and mix chemicals, and assist in day-to-day drilling operations. The role requires standing for long periods, climbing and lifting, and strong English communication for instruction and safety.

You will collaborate with Floorhands and Motorhand under Driller supervision on an on-site rig in Oklahoma. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to procedures during rotating shift schedules and outdoor rig

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to complete duties of Floorhand/Motorhand.
• Comfortable working at heights (50 ft or greater).
• Able to climb stairs repeatedly and lift/carry 50 lbs.
• Clear and prompt English reading/writing/speaking.
• Ability to provide direction to others in English.

Responsibilities

• Stand or walk for 3.5–12 hours in steel-toed boots.
• Maintain mud systems: measure mud weight/viscosity, mix chemicals, pump/shake/tank upkeep.
• Assist rig up/down procedures and support crew safety procedures.
• Communicate using signals on the board and follow instructions from Mud Engineer/Driller.
• Inspect equipment and perform routine maintenance on mud-related gear.
