Job summary

Patterson-UTI is seeking crew members to support drilling operations on a long-haul rig. You will lift and place heavy slips with assistance, maintain the rig and floor, and handle drill pipes using standard equipment.

Expect outdoor, physically demanding rotations and strict safety procedures. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, ability to work at heights, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and walk for long durations while wearing steel-toed boots.
• Ability to repetitively climb stairs and lift 50 pounds independently.
• Comfort working at heights (50 ft or more) for extended periods.
• Maintain alertness during repetitive tasks (up to 12.5 hours).
• Clear communication in English and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lift and place slips weighing ~150 pounds with another person.
• General upkeep of the rig and drilling floor, including sweeping, cleaning, painting, and equipment washing.
• Use iron roughneck, slips, and tongs to handle drill pipe sections.
• Assist in rig moves and setup of new locations.
• Check equipment and safety issues on an ongoing basis.
• Assist with inspection and handling of drilling line and hoses.
• Support with maintenance and repairs of equipment and motors.
• Maintain PPE and safety equipment and ensure proper usage.
• Collaborate with crew and perform additional duties as assigned.
