Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, seeks Dermatology Technicians at levels I–III to support patient care in dermatology under licensed supervision. Roles involve scribing, assisting with procedures, and administering select treatments as required. Multiple levels reflect increasing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school
• No experience required with Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant OR 1 year of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with NO Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant
• BLS through American Heart Association
• Computer experience
• Proven ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population
• Basic Medical/Nursing terminology

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive patient care functions in Dermatology and other clinical areas under supervision
• Assist in documentation during Dermatology visits and procedures; may scribe for physicians
• May administer injectables and assist with phototherapy, procedures, sterile field, and cosmetic procedures
• Set up and assist with procedures, manage pathology logs, and ensure results are communicated to patients
