Job summary

UW Health Dermatology and Mohs Surgery seeks a Medical Assistant (MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, LPN) to support dermatology procedures, biopsies, excisions, and wound care. You will assist physicians and providers in a fast-paced clinic, with emphasis on patient comfort and safety.

Role involves facilitating phototherapy/laser procedures, delivering health education, and contributing to a collaborative, patient-family-centered team.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program is required.
• Licensure as an LPN is required or alternative pathways described.
• CCMA or CMA/RMA/CCMA certification required if applying without MA education or LPN licensure.
• Participation in UWH MA Apprenticeship or Accelerated programs available.
• One year MA experience with CMA/RMA/CCMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist dermatology and Mohs surgery procedures, including biopsies, excisions, and wound care.
• Facilitate phototherapy, photodynamic therapy or laser procedures.
• Deliver patient-centered, compassionate care and promote healthy lifestyles.

Education

Completion of an accredited medical assistant program

Licensure as an LPN

Completion of UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program

CCMA certification as a UWH employee

Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program - Accelerated

One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA or CCMA Certification
