Job summary

BMCHS is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Service Specialist to join the Dermatology team. You will support clinicians with patient prep, vital signs, and EMR documentation, while handling administrative tasks such as patient registration and appointment scheduling.

The role requires strong patient communication and accuracy in record-keeping. Flexible to float to other specialties as needed; high attention to confidentiality and patient care quality is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Approved medical assistant/secretary program preferred.
• 1–3 years of medical assistant/secretary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers and prep patients for visits, including vital signs and documenting into EMR.
• Record patient history, pharmacy information, and consent forms in EMR.
• Register patients, verify demographics and insurance, and perform eligibility checks.
• Schedule appointments and testing; manage prior authorizations and referrals.
• Float to other specialties as needed and maintain patient confidentiality.
