Waccamaw Dermatology, LLC in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in delivering dermatology care. You will greet patients, collect intake information, perform routine testing, scribe in the EMR, and prepare exam rooms for procedures.

The role requires strong teamwork, HIPAA/OSHA compliance and a commitment to exceptional patient service.

Qualifications

Completion of a technical/vocational training program with CMA, AAMA, RMA, or CCMA Medical Assistant certification or EMT certification and a high school diploma.
One year experience as a Medical Assistant.
Current CPR, First Aid or BLS certificate.

Responsibilities

Assist during dermatology procedures and surgeries, including setup and sterilization of instruments.
Assist the Provider with minor surgeries (skin cancer, cysts, lipomas).
Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and numbing injections.
Maintain medical terminology knowledge, esp. dermatology terms.
Respond to patient messages, faxes, and phone inquiries.
Greet patients, take histories, and record vital signs.
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
Communicate aftercare instructions to patients.
Assist with room scribing to ensure accuracy in charting.
Assist with ordering and inventory of medical supplies.
Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and OSHA.
Contribute to team effort and provide superior customer service.
