Job summary

Waccamaw Dermatology in Litchfield/Pawleys Island, SC is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our dermatology team full-time. You’ll support providers, greet and prepare patients, assist with procedures and document visits to keep clinics running smoothly.

Ideal candidates hold Medical Assistant or EMT certification, BLS/CPR, EMR/EHR experience, and strong patient-service skills. Proficiency with Word/Outlook and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced setting are required.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification through an accredited training program or EMT certification.
• BLS/Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
• Medical Assistant or equivalent experience in a high-volume medical setting.
• Ability to read, write and understand medical terminology.
• Strong patient-service and communication skills.
• Ability to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced environment.
• EMR/EHR experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and collect intake information.
• Prepare patients and exam rooms for visits.
• Assist providers with patient care and dermatology procedures.
• Perform point-of-care testing and other clinical tasks.
• Document/scribe for the physician during patient visits.
• Handle patient phone calls and clinical correspondence.
• Assist with faxing, records and other office duties.
• Support the physicians, nurses and clinical team as needed.
• Help deliver safe, efficient and compassionate patient care.
