Western Piedmont Dermatology in Morganton, NC is seeking a dedicated Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our caring team. You will support providers, assist during exams, prepare rooms, and help deliver outstanding patient experiences.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, MA certification preferred, experience in clinical settings, knowledge of dermatology terminology, strong communication, and solid EHR skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
• Understanding of medical terminology, especially in dermatology.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with patients and staff.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and basic office applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs and medical histories.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare instruments, equipment, and procedure rooms.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests and handle specimens for analysis.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and office communications.
• Educate patients about treatments, medications, and skincare.
• Keep examination rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked.
