Job summary

QualDerm Partners' Skin Surgery Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our team on an as-needed basis. You will support providers, prepare patients, and help ensure smooth daily operations.

Ideal applicants have a high school diploma, MA certification preferred, and prior clinical experience. You should be comfortable with dermatology terminology, patient communication, and EHR systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant or in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
• Understanding of medical terminology, especially in dermatology.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with patients and staff.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with EHR and basic office applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Preparing patients for examinations by recording vital signs and medical histories.
• Assisting providers during examinations and procedures.
• Preparing instruments, equipment, and procedure rooms.
• Conducting basic laboratory tests and handling specimens for analysis.
• Maintaining accurate, confidential patient records.
• Coordinating patient scheduling and office communications.
• Educating patients about treatments, medications, and appropriate skincare.
• Keeping examination rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked.
