Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking a meticulous Medical Assistant to support clinical and procedural patient care under supervision. You will assist physicians, enter histories into EHR, and help manage lab specimens and phlebotomy while maintaining a safe, organized environment.

Strong communication, HIPAA compliance, and teamwork are essential as you coordinate patient flow and support both medical and cosmetic dermatology services across our network.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior medical office experience preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge and patient privacy understanding.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information by interviewing patient and recording medical history.
• Enter information into EHR systems accurately.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for visits.
• Assist physician during examinations and procedures.
• Phone prescriptions to pharmacies and schedule procedures.
• Change wound dressings and perform in-office phlebotomy.
• Collect, log and package lab specimens for transport.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain supplies.
• Complete phone triage and communicate pathology results.
• Perform scribe duties and document nurse visits.
