Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical support and patient care under supervision. You will assist physicians, perform phlebotomy, book procedures, and enter information into the EHR system.

The role requires strong eye for detail, HIPAA awareness, and experience in a medical office. On-site duties include exam prep, patient instruction, and coordinating care in a fast-paced dermatology environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in medical office preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred.
• Familiarity with ModMed EMA EMR preferred.
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history and confirming purpose of visit.
• Enter medical history and visit information into EHR.
• Escort patients to exam room.
• Ask pertinent medical questions and data entry into EHR.
• Prepare patient for exam by providing drapes and materials.
• Taking photographs.
• Assisting physician during medical examination and procedures.
• Phone in prescriptions to pharmacies.
• Schedule medical procedures.
• Instruct patients on medication usage.
• Change wound dressings and in-office phlebotomy.
• Collect, log and package lab specimens for transport.
• Sterilize medical instruments.
• Maintain supplies by inventorying stock and placing orders.
• Complete phone triage and notify patients of pathology results.
• Scribe office visits and administer medications as ordered.
• Perform nurse visit appointments including sutures, UVB, patch testing, biologic injections.
