Qualifications

• Two years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
• Current certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, AMT, ARMA, NCCT, NHA, NAHP, AMCA, AAH, AAMP or NPS).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine patient care including vital signs, blood draw, specimen collection, biopsies and POCT.
• Documents patient histories and reconciles medications in EPIC.
• Schedules tests, procedures and appointments; conducts outreach calls and post-visit follow-ups.
• Prepares instruments and assists with physician procedures; administers medications under supervision.
• Manages medication refills and prior authorizations; maintains clean and orderly exam rooms.
• Uses Outlook/Teams to communicate with staff; supports clerical duties and records in EMR.
• Prepares patients for and assists with light-based therapies (PUVA, PDT) and cosmetic procedures; assists with Mohs surgery.
