Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or verifiable applicable work experience in a patient care setting) required
• Maintains current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Certification -and- if hired after January 1, 2015, maintains current certification by one of listed agencies within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care under the direction and supervision of the physician or APP in an ambulatory care setting.
• Scribing for the provider
• Assist patients and families with preparation for examination; assists the physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents, treatments, procedures, and patient education according to policies.
• Enter medication, laboratory and diagnostic imaging orders into the EMR under the direction of a provider
