Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) / RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) / CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) / NCMA (National Certified Medical Assistant) certifications required.
• Current CPR/BLS or within 90 days of hire.
• One year of clinic experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, supplies, equipment, and inventory control.
• Understanding of ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical necessity for laboratory work or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and interview patients.
• Measure vital signs (pulse, temperature, bp, weight/height) and record data.
• Coordinate scheduling and patient registration in the care area.
• Answer phones and greet patients; assist with referrals.
• Ensure exam rooms are properly equipped and stocked.
• Work with nursing staff to maintain smooth patient flow.
• Perform other duties within Medical Assistant scope of practice.
